Tutorial: DIY Drum Inspired Dessert Cup {Will ROCK for Sweets!}

In just over a week we will be hosting our daughter’s 7th birthday!

You can probably guess that someone like me might get a little excited about choosing a theme.

This year Maia chose – M U S I C!

You can expect all of the fabulous details at the end of the month, but for now I thought I would throw out a quick tutorial on something I whipped up today.

Popcorn Drum Cup Bowl

These dynamite drum dishes will be filled with purple popcorn {white chocolate grape flavor} for guest’s to pick at as they enjoy a live musical performance by local Seattle artist, Brandon Pratt.  What what!

Boy, do we know how to throw a birthday party!

Throwing your own musical fete?  Drum cups are super easy to create!

Popcorn Drum Cup StepsI used 8oz “to-go” cups from TulleANDTwig on Etsy.  Rita {TulleANDTwig} has a ton of amazing products for celebrations, like compostable wooden cutlery, berry baskets, super fun drink stirrers, hot/cold to-go cups and MORE.

I created these drum “wraps” to fit around the 8oz cups using cardstock, a small hole punch, purple/white twine, black and white washi tape and my trusty hot glue gun.

I cannot wait to see how guest’s react to this rockin’ dessert tablescape!

Check back on Tuesday, April 30 for the complete celebration reveal!
